Our family is organizing this fundraiser in honor of our beloved Ba who over the years showered us with love, joy, blessings, wonderful stories and great food! The funds collected through this campaign will enable HelpAge India to conduct multi-specialty heath camps in Mumbai and Baroda (covering health sectors like gynecology, orthopedics, and mental health). Two health camps will be conducted at a cost of about $5000 and about 350 beneficiaries will be seen during the course of the two camps. The cost per elder is about $14.25 or Rs 1181 per person.

Elders and community members drawn from the disadvantaged segments will have the opportunity to have access to health screening, be prescribed medications and referrals as needed in a variety of areas which is out of reach for most.

In addition, HelpAge India will distribute food ration kits to disadvantaged elders in Mumbai and Baroda. The food kits (which include essentials like rice, atta, lentils, spices, oil etc), at a total cost of $5000 will help aid nutrition and food support for about 285 community members (and their families) in need. The cost per kit is about $17.5 or Rs 1460.

We are hoping to collect $10,000 for these specific interventions – two health camps and distribution of ration kits – please give generously to help us reach our goal!
